🧙‍♂️ HOW BINANCE GOT DRAINED On October 29 around 20:41 UTC, ~$2.53B in 60+ tokens left Binance’s Ethereum hot wallet in a single transaction. It all started with a hacked laptop of a DevOps engineer. Through it the attackers got access to withdrawals, hijacked the wallet via EIP-7702 and pulled out most of the funds in ~20 minutes, rushing to swap stables into $ETH. ZachXBT links the funds to the Bitget hack, CNN blames North Korea. The investigation is still ongoing. You can protect any system with code, protocols and checks, but its main vulnerability still sits behind the keyboard 👀
