Silver Hook Moth (Phalera bucephala) 🦋 A nocturnal beauty with a wingspan of 50–60 mm. Its thorax and first abdominal segment are densely covered in hair. At rest, with wings folded, it resembles a broken twig. Fun Fact: The Silver Hook Moth's gusseni can eat up to 100% of the leaves on a tree, leaving only the central vein. They primarily feed on oak, poplar, birch, beech, willow, alder, and hazel, but also enjoy munching on fruit trees and shrubs. Found across Europe, as far north as the Arctic Circle, and in Siberia and the Far East.

Meeting a Curious Young Cassowary on the Beach. This Time, It's All Good! The cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) may look harmless, but it's unique and striking. If it senses a threat (or simply sees a human on its turf), this flightless inhabitant of the tropical forests of New Guinea and northeastern Australia will attack immediately. Its main weapons are its enormous legs and powerful, long claws. Cassowaries can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h, so humans can't outrun them. Humans are the only potential enemies of cassowaries. Interestingly, these birds usually prefer to eat fruits, mushrooms, snails, insects, frogs, snakes, and other small animals. However, in 2004, the cassowary made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most dangerous bird on Earth.

Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) The Iberian lynx is distinguished from the Eurasian lynx by its lighter coat and more pronounced spots, resembling a leopard's pattern. In winter, its fur becomes duller and thinner. It's about half the size of the Eurasian lynx, primarily preying on small game like rabbits and hares, which make up roughly 90% of its diet. Occasionally, it may hunt young deer. Conservation Status Sadly, very few of these stunning creatures remain in the wild. Despite significant conservation efforts, estimates suggest only around 150 adult Iberian lynxes are left in the wild. Habitat Spotting an Iberian lynx in the wild is challenging today. Their main habitat is the mountainous regions of Spain, with a small population in the Doñana National Park. 🦊🌿
