“Everyone here is on high alert and preparing for November 4, the day after the U.S. midterm elections. Foreign ambassadors increasingly feel that an escalation is very close, and they are already considering the possibility of evacuation.”

⚡🇵🇰/🇦🇫 — High-Level Pakistani Security Delegation Meets Afghan Taliban Leadership in Kandahar — 5 Core Demands Raised
A high-powered Pakistani delegation visited Kandahar on October 22 to hold decisive, high-stakes security talks directly with the office and top circle of Hibatullah Akhundzada.
The 5-member team — comprising four top security officials and a senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) representative, joined by consular heads from Kabul and Kandahar — crossed via Spin Boldak at 09:00 hrs and returned to Quetta by 22:00 hrs after an intense day-long session.
Taliban Attendees:
• Mullah Shirin (Governor of Kandahar)
• Sadr Ibrahim (Deputy Interior Minister)
• Zabiullah Mujahid (Central Spokesperson)
• Mufti Lutfallah Hakimi (MoD Chief Inspector)
• Mullah Abdul Qadus (Head of Taliban Military Intelligence)
• Mullah Talib
📌 PAKISTAN'S 5 NON-NEGOTIABLE DEMANDS:
1. Extradition of TTP High Command: Complete handover of senior Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership residing in Afghanistan. Islamabad provided actionable intelligence dossiers, including precise physical coordinates and addresses.
2. Halt Afghan Nationals in Cross-Border Attacks: Strict administrative and military measures to stop Afghan nationals/fighters from infiltrating Pakistan to conduct terror attacks.
3. Liquidation & Exit of Taliban Assets: Formal sale/handover of all properties and real estate owned by Afghan Taliban figures inside Pakistan to the state, followed by their permanent exit.
4. Closure of Indian Consulate in Jalalabad: Complete shutdown of the Indian diplomatic mission in Jalalabad over cross-border subversive activities.
5. Block Russian Transit to Iran: Denial of Afghan land/air corridors for the transit of Russian logistical and military shipments bound to Middle East.
📌 THE KABUL REGIME'S COUNTER-CONDITIONS:
• On TTP: Taliban indicated conditional flexibility on TTP leadership, but countered by demanding Pakistan shut down alleged opposition/resistance offices and training sites inside Pakistan. Kabul handed over counter-dossiers citing recent skirmishes in Nuristan.
• On Border Infiltration: Agreed in principle, but demanded international border-security funding/equipment previously earmarked for Pakistan be routed to Kabul, claiming a lack of logistical capacity to seal eastern/southern borders.
• On Property Sales: Agreed, provided Islamabad buys all assets at peak market rates.
• On Indian Mission in Jalalabad: Agreed to shut India's consulate only on the condition of mutual reciprocity — demanding Pakistan close its own Jalalabad consulate.
• On Russian–Iranian Transit: Outright rejected involvement in Russian logistics, stating Kabul will remain neutral and avoid entanglement Middle East.
1-MONTH DEADLINE SET — OUTLOOK BLEAK:
Both sides have set a strict 30-day timeline to demonstrate verifiable progress on mutual commitments.
However, given deep-rooted mistrust, conflicting regional geometries (involving Tehran and Moscow), and diametrically opposed red lines, security analysts warn this deadline is more likely to serve as the prelude to sharp escalation and renewed cross-border friction rather than a breakthrough, as evident by recent cross border clashes.
