📈 Wall Street Wants Tokenized Stocks. Some of America's Biggest Companies Don't The SEC has opened the door to onchain stock trading, but corporate America is not entirely comfortable with what comes next. A new report highlights growing resistance from major US companies to having their shares traded through tokenized securities venues. Among the names raising objections are Broadcom, Verizon and UnitedHealth. Even Nasdaq, which has been developing its own tokenization initiatives, has objected to having its shares included under the current framework. The disagreement comes after the SEC introduced a temporary Innovation Exemption in September, allowing limited trading of tokenized US-listed stocks through approved structures. The framework includes safeguards intended to preserve shareholder rights and gives issuers an opportunity to object. And some companies are using that option. According to recent reporting, nine of the 63 companies targeted by OKXICE, a joint venture involving OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, have objected. 👀 The problem is not necessarily blockchain technology. It is what happens when the same stock starts trading across different market structures. Companies are concerned about fragmented liquidity, price transparency and investor confusion. For crypto platforms, tokenized equities represent an opportunity to bring traditional financial assets into blockchain-based markets. For issuers, however, the benefits are less obvious if the new venues create additional complexity without clear improvements for shareholders. That makes this an important reality check for the RWA narrative. Regulators can permit new market infrastructure. But the businesses behind the assets still have a say in how their securities are traded. CRYPTOSYSTEM🖱️

⚡️ Ethereum Is Preparing a 200M Gas Limit Test — And Mainnet Comes Later Ethereum's next major upgrade is moving forward, but the most important date is not a mainnet launch. The Ethereum Foundation confirmed on October 16 that Glamsterdam is scheduled to activate on the Hoodi testnet on October 26. At the same time, Hoodi's gas limit will increase to 200 million. That is a substantial scaling experiment for Ethereum's base layer. The upgrade includes enshrined proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and changes to how execution and state growth are reflected in gas pricing. These are not features most users will notice immediately. But they address fundamental questions about how Ethereum can process more activity while keeping block production and verification manageable. 📊 The goal is not simply to raise transaction capacity. It is to make Ethereum's infrastructure more efficient as demand increases. Glamsterdam already activated on Sepolia on October 6, and Hoodi represents another important stage before broader deployment. There is one detail worth emphasizing. The Ethereum Foundation has not announced a mainnet activation date. That means October 26 should be treated as a testnet milestone, not a guaranteed upgrade for every ETH user. For traders, the immediate price impact is uncertain. For developers and infrastructure providers, however, the next few weeks could offer important evidence about Ethereum's scaling roadmap. Now the network needs to prove that the improvements work under testing conditions. CRYPTOSYSTEM🖱️

💵 Circle Wants 40 New Markets — And Stablecoins Are Moving Beyond Crypto Stablecoin adoption is entering a new phase, and Circle is preparing for a much bigger international push. CEO Jeremy Allaire told Reuters on October 16 that the company plans to expand into approximately 40 emerging and developing markets. The focus includes Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East — regions where demand for digital dollars is increasingly coming from businesses and ordinary users, not just crypto traders. And Circle already has significant scale behind that strategy. USDC circulation reached approximately $73.3B in the second quarter of 2026, up 19% year over year. The company has also strengthened its distribution network through a $400M acquisition of payments provider Tazapay and a $100M strategic investment from Binance. But the more interesting story is what happens next. 🌐 Stablecoins are gradually becoming an alternative settlement rail for global payments, rather than simply liquidity sitting inside crypto exchanges. For Circle, expanding into new markets is not automatically the same as achieving widespread payment adoption. Local regulations, currency conversion and banking partnerships still determine how useful USDC becomes in practice. Traditional payment companies spent decades building international networks. Stablecoin issuers are now trying to connect those networks through blockchain infrastructure. The next growth phase may be less about trading volume — and much more about real money moving between businesses. CRYPTOSYSTEM🖱️
