What made Trump, this 79-year-old man, sit in the Situation Room and deal with Bibi Netanyahu as an equal? Trump was not even sitting at the head of the table. He was off to the side, and Bibi was sitting directly opposite him. Equal to equal. In the Situation Room, the most important room in America. What made Trump sit there and swallow everything he was being fed? None of Trump’s predecessors bought this man’s lies. So what happened to Trump?

Because the very next day, all of his senior advisers — including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the secretary of state, and the vice president — said outright: “It’s all lies, and the goals are unattainable. Don’t believe him. Yes, we can kill the ayatollah, but we cannot change the regime. We can kill the ayatollah and maybe thin out some of their missile stockpile and some of their fighters.” Maybe. But the goals Trump laid out when he launched the attack still have not been achieved. And now he is trying to feed us this nonsense about “regime change.”

There was no regime change. The same regime is still there — just with different people carrying things out. Not a single moderate in sight. So spare us the spin. If anything, it looks like the exact opposite is true, and now the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is running the show — and those are about the most radical people you could find. And that supposed fatwa issued by the ayatollah banning nuclear weapons? It is gone. Iran is economically strong because it has the Strait of Hormuz in its fist. And now it is also demanding that all sanctions be lifted. As for its ten-point peace plan, on Monday Trump said “NO!” to it, and by Tuesday he was calling it a “workable framework.” All of it just to save face — so people forget his insane threats about wiping out “an entire civilization.” I do not know, Piers, how we sank this low. 😐

The only explanation now running through all the newspapers is that we were pushed into this by Bibi Netanyahu, Lindsey Graham, and Mark Levin. And of course by President Trump himself — you cannot let him off the hook. Either he got played. Or he did not have the nerve simply to say “No.” Or he is so gullible that he bought the lie. Either way, he allowed himself to be dragged into this INSANE conflict.
