⚠️ An explosion on a gas tanker has been prevented in Ust-Luga.

According to investigators, magnetic mines had been attached to the vessel, which arrived from Belgium.

During an inspection of the gas carrier Arrhenius, divers discovered explosive devices on the ship’s hull. Investigators determined that they were factory-made naval magnetic mines produced in one of the NATO countries.

The explosives were neutralized through the joint efforts of the FSB, the Ministry of Defense, and Rosgvardia. 🚢

According to the investigation, the vessel departed from the Belgian port of Antwerp and stopped in Ust-Luga for refueling. It was then scheduled to continue to the Turkish port of Samsun.

During questioning of the ship’s agent, it emerged that the vessel had arrived with a delay. Investigators are now working to identify everyone involved in preparing the attempted terrorist attack.

The FSB has prevented a terrorist attack on a gas carrier in Ust-Luga. ⚠️

Magnetic mines were found on the hull of the vessel Arrhenius, which had arrived at the port of Ust-Luga from Antwerp, the FSB reported. The explosive devices were attached externally near the engine room; each mine reportedly contained around 7 kg of explosives.

The mined vessel was supposed to sail from Ust-Luga to Turkey. 🚢

Experts concluded that the gas carrier could not have been mined on Russian territory. Before arriving in the Leningrad region, the vessel had been in the Belgian port of Antwerp, where it was allegedly kept at anchor for a day under the pretext of a strike.
