“An open letter to the President of Russia”: Zelensky has written a letter to Putin.
“According to intelligence data, Russia is considering war plans even for 2027 and 2028. We also know that you hope ballistic missiles will do for you what everything else has failed to do. You want to drag Belarus even deeper into the war, and now we are forced to prepare for that as well. We see that you are playing some kind of game with Transnistria.
If you personally, in your own mind, do not come to the conclusion that it is time to end this war, Ukraine will continue fighting for its existence. We will find those who support us. But you, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence — not Russia’s, but your personal one. And this is not a threat from me or from Ukraine. These are facts of Russian history that you know very well: when Russia grows tired, change happens.”
🇦🇿 In Azerbaijan, a puppy fell into a storm drain — a man failed to save it in time and broke down crying
In recent weeks, the country has been hit by heavy downpours, with water rapidly flooding the streets. Apparently, that is how the puppy ended up in the storm drain. The man was nearby at the time and heard the mother dog whining.
He ran over, jumped down, and pulled the animal out — but it was already too late. The puppy had drowned. The mother took the puppy’s body and walked away, while the Azerbaijani man sat down and cried.
Elgiz managed to save four puppies and was devastated by the death of the fifth. 💔
“As our president once said: ‘If a fight is inevitable, you have to strike first,’” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, quoting Vladimir Putin.
He stressed that the West has declared war on Russia:
“In the current situation, diplomacy cannot simply cling to old ceremonial traditions of deference, because today diplomacy must do everything possible to help achieve victory in our special military operation,” the minister added during an interview at the VK Video Blogger Studio at SPIEF. ⚠️
Lavrov also spoke sharply about the position of Western leaders. Answering a question about phone calls from European politicians, he said:
“They keep saying: I’ll call Putin. Macron has been threatening to call for two months now. If you are a serious person, pick up the phone and call.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that European politicians are completely incapable of reaching agreements, citing the Minsk agreements and the Istanbul arrangements, which the West derailed:
“The Europeans are absolutely incapable of agreement. Now Estonia, among others — along with some other small and insignificant countries full of arrogance and pathos — are declaring that they will see how Russia can fulfill agreements, and only then will they take on some kind of mediating role.”
— EU representative Kaja Kallas said that the Ukrainian drone attack on St. Petersburg caused panic in the Kremlin. Do you agree with that assessment? Do you sense panic in St. Petersburg, where you have arrived for the investment forum?
— With all due respect — or perhaps without it — I would not agree with her assessment. No one is panicking. They are angry, yes. But there is a difference between those words. I would not say that Vladimir Putin or Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are in panic. Rather, forgive the expression, they are furious.
