Reflections on blockchain, crypto, politeconomy, and life, with a focus on improvement efforts. Longreads and more are available on personal website - solosolver.xyz Contact - @IliaSt0
That was the main question of my open lecture at a university this month. The series explains blockchain through real use, not through algorithms. My part is about non-USD stablecoins specifically - what they are on-chain, and what they give to economies.
I usually do presentations to consulting firms and banks online. This time the room was IRL with students. So instead of statistics, I started with questions:
- How often do you send money in an app? And abroad?
- What are the risks of depending on one currency? And the benefits?
- Where do you keep your savings: a bank, cash, crypto?
Their answers built the lecture flow.
To my surprise, the half already knew USDT and USDC. Nobody knew that stablecoins also exist in euros, reais, yen or rubles, and already move real money.
People in the room were amazed by the that a ruble-backed coin moved more volume last month than all euro coins together. Once they saw the numbers on, they built the logic "why a local currency on a blockchain can make sense" themselves.
We went through the live dashboard at analytics.solosolver.xyz, because vizualization is better than static number on a screen.
The lecture hour went fast. Many questions, many photos of slides. After the lecture, we became a partner of the university.
Important takeaway is that the next generation does not need to be told why crypto or stablecoins matter. They need to be told why it should be diversified.
- Second trip to Korea. Went alone as the company’s single representative.
- Worked according with my plan: business development and deeper expertise in local stablecoins and onchain private credits.
- Responsibilities at the company grew. One separate direction is moving under my control.
- Delivered a live lecture to current students on non-USD stablecoins: why they matter and why now.
There is a result. The task now is to build on it and turn volume into quality.
Next: a post on the experience of speaking live on my professional topic. It will show how the younger generation of entrepreneurs reasons about blockchain
