Well, the way they see the world when others are brutalised or killed by the police is because they're bad people to begin with & their behaviour is innate, therefore they don't deserve sympathy as they're seen as less human whether their killing was justified or not. Hence why they often dig in their past to find any dirt which they can use to justify why they shouldn't have been treated as human to begin with. Goodness forbid the same thing happens to them, as they always see themselves as either heroes or victims, never the perpetrators. That's why the likes of Peter are now taking the knee instead of seeing the bigger picture.
