Yes Mr Macron has a reason to be salty, since getting kicked out of the African countries France has been exploiting, it has lost 43% of the $500 billion it has been getting from these countries as colonial tax per year.

This is why searching for information from various medias & sources is very important than just the one that confirms our biases. In the last few years after socialising & interacting with people I would've been seen dead with, I've been left perplexed on how some people will try & justify something that has no validity & lacks truth just because it confirms their biases.

The protests & riots in France have nothing to do with immigrants as the likes Alex Jones & Mr T, etc, will lead you to believe. The protests was started by students on the 21st Sept in Cèteil over poor learning conditions & shortage of teachers, fuelled by lack of government funding & rising cost of living. Something else that happened in France in the last few years that must have led to government underfunding, it has lost a chunk from its bread basket. 6 of the 14 former French colonial African countries it has been forcing to pay colonial tax since gaining independent including those in the Sahel region have kicked French companies out & stopped paying France the unlawful 85% of their annual income as colonial tax. Such move is part of these countries broader movement for independent & economic sovereignty. Surely this loss of revenue in the past few years is having an impact to France, which I'm sure has contributed to the current situation, as it's not just the tax funds France has lost, it's also the raw minerals it no longer gets for peanuts.

We will soon observe instances like this mainly across western Europe, as western European countries don't produce much & in the last few decades to a century, they've heavily relied on importing food & raw materials from other countries. Even now, most finished goods come from China. Western Europe is dependent on importing stuff from their former colonies, which they've exploited till date. With the rise of the BRICS & the exploited countries gradually pushing back, we are slowly seeing a shift in the cost of living & everything else. Soon, only the rich will be able to have a decent living & common people will resort to looting & rioting & those who are able to leave the country, will leave.
