I have graduated from the pursuit of happiness and purpose to the pursuit of beauty. Sometimes happiness comes with the package but beauty transcends it as it is defiant. It can find you anywhere, in any circumstance.
I don't know exactly what I mean by beauty. I don't have to. All I know is that I'm not talking about faces and bodies.
When you are bogged down by the basics, the fundamentals...when you can't afford to rise above the little things, when you're one banana peel away from sliding into existential dysphoria, you have to work overtime just to stay afloat. You have to tailor your own customized meaning. Meaning to life and meaning to terms.
I try to create my own kind of beauty. And build a fort where invaders have to shape-shift to fit into. I'm talking about crafting ones own world or at least nook out of specks of beauty.

"Nothing's gonna change my world".
Paul's
I'm painting a room in a colorful way
And when my mind is wandering
There I will go
In Tennyson's
"I built my soul a lordy pleasure-house...
My soul would live alone unto herself
In her high palace there."
There is a gremlin in my house that hides my pen away in times of need. That trashes my play things and breaks my reading glasses. These are days when it dusks on me trying to find what to do with my hands. This is what I imagine cryogenic sleep would be like. Let beauty wake me!
Let it be a comfort. A comfort, not a bedding.
Let it reach past the shelved preserves of humors and nerves to touch what moves me.
Everyday as an adult is looking like a test to behave or not to behave like a bloodsucking psychopath.
And what's worse is that it comes in the name of benefiting and saving your loved ones.
Life is a battlefield and all's fair in war? In a dog eat dog world, is being harmless a kind of martyr complex? It's disgusting being human.
