JPMorgan has brought JPM Coin onto Ethereum, giving its institutional clients a way to move dollars in seconds — any day, any hour, not only during banking hours. JPM Coin is a deposit token: each unit stands for a dollar already sitting in a JPMorgan account, and clients can redeem it for cash at any time with no lock-up. Only vetted, approved counterparties can hold it, so it is not a coin anyone can buy on an exchange. The token first went live on Coinbase's Base network in November 2025, and holders can now move it between Base and Ethereum. Kinexys, the bank's blockchain unit, has processed more than $4 trillion in cumulative transactions and handles roughly $7 billion a day. JPMorgan expects crypto firms to use it for payments while financial institutions settle trades and post collateral. Zakura, a newer implementation of the Zcash node software, has proposed a fix that keeps private ZEC swaps unlinkable even against a future quantum computer. The gap sits in NEAR Intents, a cross-chain swap service. When a user swaps private ZEC for USDC, it posts one of their Zcash addresses on NEAR's public chain so it knows where to refund unused funds — and that address stays public even when no refund is needed. Today it reveals nothing, but a large enough quantum computer running Shor's algorithm could theoretically reverse it and rebuild a user's payment history. The proposal gives every swap its own viewing key and uses private information retrieval so wallets can locate refunds without revealing which addresses they check. Spending keys never leave the user.
