*LESS THAN 12 HOURS TO HANDING OVER, EKSU-SJC CHIEF JUDGE CALLS OUT OUTGOING SUG PRESIDENT* Barely 12 hours to the EKSU Students' Union handing over and inauguration, the outgoing Chief Judge of the Students' Judicial Council, *Victor Akinyemi Ogunleye*, has released an inquiry titled *"THE UNION UNDER EXAMINATION."* In the report obtained by *EKSU SU Press*, Ogunleye said the document is not an accusation but a call for records and clarification before the administration hands over. The inquiry raised six major issues: *1. July Bank Transactions:* Quoting a 24th July 2026 Campus Reporter report, he noted that over *₦1.5 million* was moved between Union accounts (UBA and Zenith) and personal accounts of officials between 3rd-10th July, including ₦750k, ₦400k and ₦300k transfers to the Financial Secretary. He asked for purpose, approvals and receipts. *2. The ₦28 Million Question:* He recalled the Union President mentioning that the administration started with *₦28 million or more*, while same administration repeatedly claimed "no money" - a reason no meaningful budget was given to other arms, especially the Judicial Council. *3. Sienna Bus (Aluta Jet):* He disclosed the Union bus is in management's custody. He has a copy of a 19th August 2025 letter titled "Proposed Payment Scheme for Sienna Vehicle Procurement" proposing deductions from 200-level students' dues to pay for the bus. He said the copy is not verified and asked for clarification on ownership and payments. *4. Senate Oversight:* He said the Senate requested full financial statements at joint sittings more than once without timely response. *5. Judicial Council Funding:* As Chief Judge, he said the Council received no meaningful budget or remuneration, questioning how the judicial arm can be independent without funding. *6. Court Judgment & Proposed Due:* He said top officers including the President, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Senate President failed to appear in a case before the Students' Court. He also said he electronically signed a document for a proposed new Union due after being told it had management support, but later realized full facts were not disclosed to him. Ogunleye, in his address, urged management and Union organs to preserve records and do an impartial review, giving all accused persons fair hearing. He stressed: _"The purpose is not to pronounce anyone guilty, but to ensure questions are asked and answers are preserved."_ Through all this allegations, the outgoing President is yet to give an official respond. *Reporting:* *Onasanya Hezekiah Oluwadamilare*
