📣 Visa sees 10x stablecoin settlement growth, adds over 225 card programs
⚠️ Visa has surpassed $25 billion in annualized stablecoin settlement volume, a tenfold increase from a year ago, as the global payments company expands its blockchain operations across 10 networks and five international regions.
🔔 According to Visa CEO Ryan McInerney, who disclosed the figures during the company’s October 27 fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call, the payment network now supports five stablecoins for settlement. The company has expanded its stablecoin-linked card business to more than 225 programs, serving approximately 5 million cards across more than 50 countries.
👀 The $25 billion figure represents Visa’s annualized settlement run rate, calculated from its current pace of activity, not the total amount processed throughout fiscal 2026. The company reported the growth alongside new commercial stablecoin services and record annual revenue of approximately $46 billion.

📌 Glamsterdam is off Hoodi’s October calendar as Ethereum checks contract risks
🔗 The October 26 Hoodi test has been pulled, including its planned 200 million gas limit. Developers are examining a repricing proposal against contracts already on mainnet. Developers made the decision to investigate how EIP-8037, a change to the price of creating new Ethereum state, interacts with contracts on mainnet. The Foundation has not said the upgrade has broken mainnet. It has not put a date on a production fork either. The immediate operational risk is on Hoodi: clients or custom configurations still carrying the old activation time could disagree with the revised schedule. The deeper question is how to change the cost of work inside a transaction without upsetting applications that embedded the old numbers in code.
➡️ Operators should read the latest release notes for both types of client; an earlier release described as Glamsterdam-compatible may still contain the now-cancelled Hoodi activation. That is more than a scheduling footnote. A validator needs to follow the same network rules as its peers. If part of its software expects new execution rules or consensus duties at the old epoch while the network does not, it can lose the ability to follow the canonical chain. Builder and validator infrastructure may have their own configuration.
👀 The Foundation therefore tells operators to verify revised client versions and remove stale custom settings before October 26, rather than assume that doing nothing is safe because a fork was delayed. Hoodi’s remaining rehearsal has been postponed precisely because the contract investigation needs time. There is no published replacement timestamp to extrapolate into a mainnet date.

🌐 OKXICE faces objections from 9 companies over stock tokens
⚠️ Nine companies have formally objected to plans by OKXICE to offer tokenized versions of their shares, preventing the proposed trading platform from listing those securities under a new U.S. regulatory exemption. The objections affect the joint venture’s planned Tokenized Securities Venue (TSV), which intends to offer blockchain-based trading of U.S. stocks around the clock. Under the Securities and Exchange Commission’s September 17 exemption, companies can prevent an unaffiliated third party from offering tokenized versions of their shares on a particular venue.
📊 The notice does not explain why each company objected. It confirms the receipt of nine notices but does not establish that the companies oppose every form of stock tokenization. The October 15 filing identifies AppLovin, Applied Digital and Rocket Lab alongside technology companies CoreWeave, Broadcom, Applied Optoelectronics and Cerebras Systems. Verizon and UnitedHealth complete the list. The companies had been considered for trading through OKXICE’s proposed blockchain-based securities platform. Eight appeared on the venue’s original October 4 list of 63 securities, while Cerebras was already recorded as an objecting issuer outside that initial lineup.
🔗 A comparison of the venture’s public notices indicates that objections accumulated across successive disclosures. Cerebras appeared in the October 4 notice, followed by AppLovin, Applied Digital and Rocket Lab in the October 8 revision. By October 15, CoreWeave, Verizon, Applied Optoelectronics, Broadcom and UnitedHealth had joined the disclosed group. The filings do not establish the exact dates on which each company delivered its objection.
