🚨$6.3 BILLION STOLEN FROM BINANCE IN JUST 20 MINUTES? One of the largest crypto thefts in history may have just taken place. Binance's preliminary estimate puts the stolen assets at approximately $6.3 billion — nearly four times the previous record set by Bybit. 🇰🇵According to TRM Labs, the attack is likely linked to TraderTraitor, an elite North Korean hacking group. Here is how it happened: - Hackers reportedly spent 36 hours preparing the attack. - They gained access through a compromised DevOps laptop, eventually reaching infrastructure involved in hot-wallet transaction signing. - Approximately 18,000 BTC, alongside billions in Ethereum and other digital assets, were moved across 10 blockchains. - Most of the withdrawals happened within just 20 minutes. Binance responded by suspending withdrawals and stated that affected customers would be fully compensated using its own funds and its SAFU reserve, which holds approximately $1 billion. Meanwhile, stablecoin issuers reportedly froze around $3 billion in assets, while approximately $2.4 billion in BTC and ETH remains out of reach. 36 hours of preparation. 20 minutes of execution. $6.3 billion at stake. @Coinfeedd
