Also, NUSSU is organising an NUS-wide halloween event for the first time today, from 5-9 p.m. at UTown (they have mentioned food booths, escape rooms, live performances, a photobooth, exciting collaborations with NUS CCAs, trick-or-treat prizes and spooky surprises, and lucky draw prizes) 👻 If you are looking for someone to attend with, you can also try out the @nusmatchbot to be randomly paired with someone! The matching goal option "Attend events (30 Oct: HALLOWNUS 2026 at UTown)" was just added today! (If you have a preference, you can also match by gender/major/year, but you're recommended to keep your selection broad for a higher chance to match by today) If you found these useful, do share our channel @NUSguide with your friends/juniors — we share uni tips/hacks throughout the year! 🙌🏻

Application Deadlines 1. Transfer applications (closes on 10 Nov) 🚨 Applications to transfer to a different faculty close on 10 Nov. If you’re successful, you’d be in a new faculty/course of study next semester. Credit transfers might be possible to not delay graduation. Note that the following courses do not allow transfers into them during this transfer window: Architecture, Dentistry, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Nursing (CCP-RN Degree) and Pharmacy. For these, you’d apply in the next transfer application window typically in February 2. Applications to stay in hall/houses/houses/RCs in Sem 2 🚨 • Officially, applications on UHMS open on 30 Oct and close 5 Nov at 11.59 a.m. • However, halls typically have a master’s list process; it is our understanding that most or all Sem 2 applicants are accepted through this instead of the public UHMS applications. For many halls, the master’s list applications are already open and may even close before 30 Oct • Different halls have different requirements, but usually, you’d need to be referred by an existing hall resident (who may be required to hold a leadership position). • if you really want to enter a hall in Sem 2, then you stand a more reasonable chance through the master’s list process. Both you and the recommender would typically fill a form (likely examining how you can contribute), and the hall’s JCRC may conduct an interview. Full information on the master’s list process is not usually publicly available, as the forms are circulated among existing hall residents. Also, this is back for those who are keen! For those unaware, NUS already offers ChatGPT Edu access for free — this may suffice for many of you. Some benefits remain, though: 1) a second number is useful for those who want to separate work/personal life communications, 2) a second number could allow you to get new accounts on various platforms/free trials that offer benefits beyond the subscription cost, 3) you may benefit from premium access to Claude, if you find its responses superior to ChatGPT, 4) the Starbucks gift card if you’re among the first 20 If you found these useful, do share our channel @NUSguide with your friends/juniors — we share uni tips/hacks throughout the year! 🙌🏻
