🟠 Do not become an endless learner without understanding the truth. Study with the purpose of growing in sound doctrine. 🔴 Recognize Paul's distinctive apostleship. Understand the gospel and revelation committed to him for the Body of Christ. 🟣 Remain steadfast despite opposition. Persecution and criticism do not require believers to compromise biblical truth. 🔵 Continue in the Scriptures. Do not abandon the doctrine you have learned simply to follow religious trends. 🟢 Understand salvation by grace through faith. Our salvation rests upon Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. 🟡 Recognize the inspiration of all Scripture. Every part of Scripture is God's Word and profitable when properly understood. 🟠 Rightly divide the Word of truth. Distinguish Israel's prophetic programme from the Mystery concerning the Body of Christ. --- 📖 CONCLUSION: THE ANSWER TO DECEPTION IS SOUND DOCTRINE Second Timothy chapter 3 is a warning against moral corruption, religious deception, false teaching, and the rejection of God's truth. Paul describes people who love themselves more than God. He exposes those who maintain a form of godliness while denying its power. He warns about false teachers who manipulate vulnerable people. He describes people who are always learning but never come to the knowledge of the truth. He reminds Timothy of his doctrine, conduct, faith, and endurance. And finally, he emphasizes that all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for establishing believers in truth. The solution to religious confusion is not more man-made religion. The solution to false doctrine is sound doctrine. The solution to spiritual immaturity is studying and understanding God's Word. The solution to mixing God's programmes is rightly dividing the Word of truth. 📖 2 Timothy 3:14 (KJV) "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;" We must not allow religious traditions to become more important than Scripture. We must not allow denominational loyalty to replace biblical understanding. We must not follow religious teachers blindly. And we must not confuse God's prophetic programme for Israel with the Mystery revealed through Paul concerning the Body of Christ. --- 📣 FINAL EXHORTATION: STOP FOLLOWING RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS AND START STUDYING GOD'S WORD! Do not measure your spiritual understanding by how long you have attended religious services. Do not measure truth by the popularity of a preacher. Do not assume that a religious teaching is biblical simply because it has been repeated for hundreds of years. OPEN YOUR KING JAMES BIBLE AND STUDY! 🔵 Learn who God is through His revealed Word. 🟢 Understand the gospel of salvation. 🟡 Study the doctrine committed to the Apostle Paul. 🟠 Recognize the difference between Israel and the Body of Christ. 🔴 Reject teachings that contradict rightly divided Scripture. 🟣 Continue growing in the knowledge of the truth. 📖 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." DON'T MIX THE PROGRAMMES! 🔵 ISRAEL IS NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST. 🟢 PROPHECY IS NOT THE MYSTERY. 🟡 LAW IS NOT GRACE. 🟠 RELIGIOUS TRADITION IS NOT SOUND DOCTRINE. 🔴 OUTWARD GODLINESS IS NOT PROOF OF INWARD FAITH. 🟣 ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED, BUT IT MUST BE RIGHTLY DIVIDED. STUDY PAUL'S EPISTLES — ROMANS THROUGH PHILEMON. UNDERSTAND THE DISPENSATION OF GRACE. BE ESTABLISHED IN THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. CONTINUE IN SOUND DOCTRINE! 📖 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV) "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." THE WORD OF GOD IS OUR AUTHORITY — NOT RELIGION, NOT TRADITION, AND NOT THE OPINIONS OF MEN. 📖 KING JAMES BIBLE | MID-ACTS 9 RIGHT DIVISION | PAULINE DOCTRINE

This is the gospel of salvation for the present Dispensation of Grace. 🟢 Christ died for our sins. 🟢 He was buried. 🟢 He rose again the third day. Salvation rests upon the finished work of Jesus Christ, not upon our religious performance. 📖 Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." We are not saved by water baptism, religious rituals, church membership, keeping the Mosaic Law, or performing good works. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. 📖 Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," The believer hears the gospel, believes, and is sealed with the Holy Spirit. This is the assurance given to members of the Body of Christ. --- 🟣 10. ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD 📖 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" This verse establishes the divine inspiration and usefulness of all Scripture. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD. But this does not mean every command in the Bible was spoken directly to the Body of Christ. We must distinguish between what Scripture says, to whom it was addressed, and the programme under which it was given. Paul identifies four purposes of Scripture. 🔵 A. DOCTRINE Doctrine teaches us what is true. It establishes our understanding of God's Word. Without sound doctrine, believers become vulnerable to confusion and deception. 📖 1 Timothy 4:16 (KJV) "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." Paul emphasizes the importance of continuing in doctrine. 🟢 B. REPROOF Reproof exposes error. Scripture reveals when our beliefs, conduct, or teachings contradict God's truth. We must be willing to examine what we have been taught. No religious tradition should be exempt from biblical examination. 🟡 C. CORRECTION Correction brings us back to the truth. When we discover that something we believe contradicts rightly divided Scripture, we should be willing to change our understanding. The goal is not to defend a denomination or a religious tradition. The goal is to understand God's Word correctly. 🟠 D. INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS Scripture teaches believers how to live in a manner consistent with their identity in Christ. Grace does not mean that godly conduct is unimportant. 📖 Titus 2:11–12 (KJV) "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;" Grace teaches believers how to live. We do not perform good works to earn salvation. We are saved by grace, and good works are the proper fruit of our new life in Christ. --- 🔵 11. THE MAN OF GOD MUST BE THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED 📖 2 Timothy 3:17 (KJV) "That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." The purpose of Scripture is not simply to provide religious information. God's Word equips believers for godly living and service. The word perfect in this context conveys completeness or maturity. The expression throughly furnished means fully equipped. Paul is explaining the sufficiency of inspired Scripture to equip the man of God. Notice that Scripture provides what is necessary for doctrine, correction, and instruction. We do not need to invent additional religious requirements to make salvation complete. 📖 Colossians 2:10 (KJV) "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:" The believer's completeness is in Christ. We do not become more saved by participating in religious ceremonies. We do not earn a greater standing before God through human traditions. Our standing rests upon Jesus Christ. --- 🟠 12. RIGHTLY DIVIDING ALL SCRIPTURE One of the most common sources of doctrinal confusion is failing to distinguish God's instructions to different audiences. Paul tells us that all Scripture is inspired and profitable. He also tells us to rightly divide the Word of truth. These statements do not contradict each other. All Scripture is FOR our learning, but not every instruction in Scripture is addressed TO us. 📖 Romans 15:4 (KJV) "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." We learn from all Scripture. However, we must recognize the distinctions between Israel's prophetic programme and the Mystery concerning the Body of Christ. 🔵 ISRAEL: God's covenant nation, with earthly kingdom promises and a prophetic programme. 🟢 THE BODY OF CHRIST: One new Body composed of believing Jews and Gentiles, revealed through the Mystery committed to Paul. 🟡 PROPHECY: That which God spoke by His prophets concerning His prophetic purposes. 🟠 MYSTERY: That which was kept secret since the world began and subsequently revealed through Paul. 🔴 LAW: The Mosaic covenant given to Israel. 🟣 GRACE: The present dispensation in which believers are saved by grace through faith, apart from works. 📖 Ephesians 3:6 (KJV) "That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:" 📖 Romans 6:14 (KJV) "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." The Body of Christ is not under the Mosaic Law. We must not mix instructions given under Israel's Law programme with the doctrine revealed for the Body of Christ. RIGHT DIVISION DOES NOT REJECT ANY SCRIPTURE. IT RECOGNIZES GOD'S DISTINCTIONS WITHIN SCRIPTURE. --- 🔴 13. THE DANGER OF RELIGION WITHOUT SOUND DOCTRINE Second Timothy chapter 3 provides a serious warning about outward religion that lacks genuine godliness. Religion can become a substitute for studying God's Word when people place more confidence in ceremonies, traditions, and religious authorities than in Scripture. Consider these questions. 🔴 What good is attending religious services if people never understand the gospel of salvation? 🟠 What good is repeating religious phrases if people never learn what God has revealed through Paul? 🟡 What good is defending traditions if those traditions contradict Scripture? 🟢 What good is accumulating religious knowledge without coming to the knowledge of the truth? 🔵 What good is professing godliness while refusing sound doctrine? The answer is not to abandon biblical fellowship, prayer, thanksgiving, or worship. The answer is to ensure that these things are grounded in truth and contribute to spiritual edification. 📖 1 Corinthians 14:26 (KJV) "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." Notice Paul's emphasis: "Let all things be done unto edifying." Biblical fellowship should build believers up in truth. It should not merely provide entertainment or reinforce human traditions. 📖 Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;" Believers must become established in sound doctrine rather than being carried away by every new teaching. --- 🟢 14. WHAT SHOULD BELIEVERS LEARN FROM 2 TIMOTHY 3? Paul's instructions give us several essential lessons. 🔵 Recognize the danger of moral corruption. Do not allow the attitudes described in verses 2–4 to shape your conduct. 🟢 Do not confuse religious appearance with godliness. Outward ceremonies and religious language are not proof of sound doctrine. 🟡 Beware of false teachers. Examine teaching against Scripture rather than accepting it because of someone's position or popularity.

They exploit weakness rather than establish people in truth. But notice the next statement: "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." This warning is extremely important. People can spend their entire lives involved in religion without ever understanding the gospel of their salvation. They may continually attend services, listen to sermons, read religious literature, and study denominational teachings. Yet they may never understand the difference between Israel's prophetic programme and the Mystery revealed through Paul. They may never understand salvation by grace through faith apart from works. They may never understand their identity as members of the Body of Christ. Learning religious information is not necessarily the same as coming to the knowledge of the truth. 📖 1 Timothy 2:4 (KJV) "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." Notice the distinction. God desires that people be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth. Salvation and spiritual understanding are both important. A person must first understand the gospel of salvation, and then continue growing in sound doctrine. --- 🔴 5. JANNES AND JAMBRES: RESISTING THE TRUTH 📖 2 Timothy 3:8–9 (KJV) "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." Paul refers to Jannes and Jambres as examples of resistance to God's truth. These names are traditionally associated with the magicians who opposed Moses before Pharaoh. Paul uses their opposition as an illustration of the false teachers who resist the truth in Timothy's day. Notice that Paul does not praise their religious knowledge or supernatural claims. He identifies them as men of corrupt minds. False teaching is not harmless simply because it appears spiritual. 📖 2 Corinthians 11:13–15 (KJV) "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." This is why believers must exercise discernment. Not everyone who claims to represent Christ teaches the truth. Not everyone who quotes Scripture rightly divides it. Not everyone who appears righteous is faithfully teaching God's Word. The authority is Scripture, not religious appearance. --- 🔵 6. TIMOTHY KNEW PAUL'S DOCTRINE 📖 2 Timothy 3:10–11 (KJV) "But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me." Here Paul contrasts the corrupt character of false teachers with his own doctrine and conduct. Notice the order. "But thou hast fully known my doctrine." Paul begins with doctrine. He then speaks of his manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, persecutions, and afflictions. Timothy had witnessed both Paul's teaching and his conduct. Paul's doctrine was not something he invented. 📖 Galatians 1:11–12 (KJV) "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." Paul received his gospel through the revelation of Jesus Christ. His apostleship to the Gentiles and the revelation of the Mystery are essential to understanding God's present dealings with the Body of Christ. 📖 Romans 11:13 (KJV) "For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:" Paul's office matters. His doctrine matters. His gospel matters. 📖 1 Corinthians 4:16 (KJV) "Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me." Following Paul does not mean worshipping Paul or placing him above Jesus Christ. It means recognizing the doctrine that the risen Christ revealed through His appointed apostle. 📖 1 Corinthians 11:1 (KJV) "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ." We follow Paul as he follows Christ, recognizing the revelation entrusted to him for the Body of Christ. --- 🟠 7. ALL WHO LIVE GODLY IN CHRIST JESUS SHALL SUFFER PERSECUTION 📖 2 Timothy 3:12–13 (KJV) "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." Paul makes it clear that godly living does not guarantee worldly acceptance. Believers who stand upon biblical truth may experience opposition. They may be mocked, rejected, falsely accused, or pressured to compromise their convictions. But we must also recognize that not every disagreement or criticism constitutes persecution. Our conduct must remain consistent with the doctrine of grace. 📖 2 Timothy 2:24–25 (KJV) "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;" Notice that Paul does not instruct believers to respond to opposition with hatred or personal attacks. He instructs them to teach patiently and with meekness. We must stand firmly upon sound doctrine without abandoning godly conduct. Paul also warns that evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse. They deceive others while being deceived themselves. False doctrine can spread through repeated teaching, religious authority, and traditions that people accept without examination. This makes studying Scripture even more important. --- 🟢 8. CONTINUE IN THE THINGS THOU HAST LEARNED 📖 2 Timothy 3:14 (KJV) "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;" Paul tells Timothy to continue in the truth. He does not tell him to pursue every new religious movement. He does not instruct him to abandon sound doctrine to please people. He tells him to remain established in what he has learned. 📖 2 Timothy 1:13 (KJV) "Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." Notice Paul's instruction: "Hold fast the form of sound words." Sound doctrine must be preserved. It must not be replaced with religious speculation, man-made traditions, or teachings that contradict Scripture. 📖 Romans 16:25 (KJV) "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began," Paul explains that believers are established according to his gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the Mystery. This is a crucial distinction. The Mystery was kept secret since the world began. It was not simply a continuation of Israel's prophetic kingdom programme. The Body of Christ must be established in the doctrine revealed through Paul. --- 🔵 9. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES MAKE US WISE UNTO SALVATION 📖 2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." Timothy had known the holy Scriptures since childhood. These Scriptures were able to make him wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Notice that Paul does not say salvation comes through religious ceremonies or human traditions. Salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus. For the Body of Christ, Paul clearly explains the gospel of salvation. 📖 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV) "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
