Failed job interview. Part 2.

I wasn’t fully confident in my grasp of the business topic, and deep down, I saw this as my one and only shot to break into an international job market. This is not the right mood that helps you to achieve your goals and later I will tell you how I control my emotions and expectations now. It is not only about job interview and not only about professional life, it is an approach in general to feel self-confidence in any interactions.

I began by researching to understand what the business needed. But it took too much time and I didn’t find the right balance between research and development. Then I focused too much on creating a complex backend. I was up all night, barely sleeping, all because I was terrified of blowing this chance. When it was time to present my prototype, I was exhausted.

Hello everyone, I want to share a story about my first time trying to land a job abroad, at a Belgian IT consulting firm. The opportunity came my way quite naturally  through the company director, who was a software solution supplier of my previous employer. I had a chance to interact with him at work environment and to socialize during his business visit in Moscow. He was friendly, chill and easy going person as many Belgians. Few years later when I was finally open to relocation, he trusted me enough to give me a test assignment: build an app for calculating salary model.
