Here are two images of the Old Bank of England pub at 194 Fleet St, London, EC4A. As it sits directly beside the 'Royal Courts of Justice', this building was once a law branch for the Bank of England between 1888 - 1975. When it was first changed to a pub (in 1994), you can see that it was a magnificent building packed with class. Yet, like with so many cultural beauties, it was gutted and underwent major redevelopment during the so called "COVID-19 pandemic" to make it a much more tacky/hipster location. It's bad enough that newbuilds are as ugly as they are, but to gut out the few gems we have left is agenda driven criminality. @BritainsPubs
